This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you access or use our website, parent and student dashboards, interactive AI tools (like Sparky, our AI guide), and related services.

Our Core Commitment: We do not sell user data. We do not run ads. All data collected is used solely to provide a personalized, safe, and premium educational experience.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

SparkUp Academy is fully committed to compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Because our platform is designed for children, we take extra precautions to protect their safety and privacy:

  • Parental Consent: We require verifiable parental consent (via payment authorization) before a child profile can be created or access is granted to our AI learning tools.
  • Limited Data Collection: We do not ask children for full names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical locations. Child profiles only store a first name or nickname, age, selected avatar, and learning interests.
  • Parental Control: Parents have full control over their children's profiles. You can review, modify, or delete your child's data at any time from the Parent Dashboard.

Information We Collect

A. Information Provided by Parents

To create an account and subscribe, parents provide:

  • Account Details: Email address, password, full name.
  • Billing Information: Credit card or payment details (processed securely via Stripe; we do not store raw card details).
  • Child Profile Info: Nickname, age, avatar selection, and learning interests.

B. Information Collected from Children

During interactive learning sessions, our system collects:

  • AI Chat Logs: Text responses, questions, and decisions made while interacting with the Sparky AI guide, case studies, or Failathon simulations.
  • Learning Progress: Achievements, lessons completed, XP earned, decision pathways, and assessment results.

C. Technical & Analytical Data

We collect standard technical information (IP addresses, browser type, device type, cookies) for security, platform optimization, and general usage statistics.

How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:

Adaptive Learning & AI

Powering personalized, adaptive learning paths, case studies, and interactive AI coach dialogue.

Parental Insights

Generating growth reports, progress charts, and resilience analytics for the Parent Dashboard.

Billing & Accounts

Processing monthly/annual subscriptions, handling upgrades/downgrades, and managing household accounts.

Safety & Monitoring

Moderating AI chat logs to ensure a respectful, safe environment and filter out inappropriate content.

Sharing & Disclosure

We respect your family's data. We do not sell or lease any personal data to third parties. We share information only in these limited scenarios:

  • Service Providers: We work with trusted partners to host our database (Firebase), process billing (Stripe), and securely orchestrate AI models (such as Google Gemini APIs). These partners are contractually restricted from using the data for any other purpose.
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, subpoena, or regulation, we may disclose information to protect the safety of our users or comply with legal processes.

Data Security & Storage

Data security is our top priority. We implement robust physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to keep your data secure:

  • We encrypt all sensitive data in transit (HTTPS/SSL) and at rest (using Google Firebase database security standards).
  • Access to user data is strictly limited to authorized personnel who require it to perform support or technical maintenance.
  • Chat and interactive histories are archived securely and are only accessible by the associated household account parent.

Parents' Rights & Control

As a parent or guardian, you have full control over the information we maintain about you and your children:

Access & Review: You can see all profile details, billing invoices, and progress insights in your Parent Dashboard.

Request Deletion: You can delete a child profile at any time, which permanently removes their assessment and progress logs. You can also request complete household account deletion.

Revoke Consent: You may revoke consent at any time, which will require us to terminate the child profile and cease collecting information from them.
